Human Resource Outsourcing

Although human resource outsourcing has been around as long as work specialization has existed, it is only recently that companies began employing the human resource outsourcing model to carry out narrow functions, such as payroll, billing and data entry. As these processes could be done more efficiently and more cost-effectively by other companies with specialized tools and facilities and specially trained personnel.

India is unlikely to be toppled as the main destination for outsourcing, with 80% of global offshoring now located in the subcontinent. But South Africa is fast emerging as a rival to India's dominance, thanks to closer cultural links with the west, a more reliable telecoms infrastructure and relatively low labour costs.

Sample Leave Applications

Given below are some sample leave applications received by the HRD from some of their staff.

I am not criticizing these companies nor their staff, but I have always wondered why do these guys who have such fantastic qualifications, do not put in an effort to at least perfect their English.

Or for that matter, if they do not feel comfortable with English, why don't they write in their mother tongue, or Hindi. Am sure that the HRD or Personnel Department would only be happy to receive something that they could understand.

Apologies, if I have hurt anyone's sentiments..

Thought For The Day

Employee Motivation At Work

The word "motivation", in psychology is the intention of achieving a goal, leading to goal-directed behavior.

In this view the general conclusion is that leadership is motivation and motivation is leadership, and that the two elements are inseparable. However, interestingly, no one has actually conceptualized motivation in a useful way to demonstrate and analyze the connection between it and leadership.

While Motivation clearly comes under personality and emotion, Leadership comes under cognitive psychology. But basically, belief is the solution to the problem.

The Need For A Professional Resume Writer

In the midst of hundreds of resumes that any recruiter or employer receive for any given position, your resume needs to stand out from that crowd.

In other words, you must make the Recruitment Manager want to read your resume more thoroughly than just the rudimentary 10-20 seconds the vast majority of your competition will warrant.

Now what makes a resume that focuses on achievements, so effective?

It can be said that most job seekers tend to list their responsibilities of their past and current positions without highlighting on their achievements. Although responsibilities are an important factor, the crux should be on achievements. If you are seeking a high-level position, it becomes even more necessary

In other words, you have to show proof of those results that you were able to achieve and that you would be able to repeat it should the future employer hire you.
